Epoxy Resin
Resins are used to repair damage. The resin can also be used in the rebuilding process of the boat and is used to reinforce glass-reinforced polyester.
The resin is chosen according to the type of work to be done. You can choose between epoxy and polyester resins. Epoxy resin is suitable for repairing laminate, as it has a great grip and does not absorb water. Recommended for bonding and laminating high strength elements above and below the waterline. The main advantages of epoxy resin include high strength, better adhesion and greater resistance to water damage. Polyester resin is used for quick, mainly aesthetic mechanical repairs. Advantages of polyester resin include lower price, fast drying/curing time, lower exothermic peaking and easier processing. Recommended for above waterline lamination and repairs on components that do not require high strength.
